As some of you may have seen on our blog or social media recently, we have had an ongoing #InThreeWords project where we asked sales representatives and brokers around our office to give some short, but definitely valuable advice in three (ish) words. The advice can typically be applied to all aspects of life and work, and it shows us that a little goes a long way. Below we’ll attach some of our recent posts, so you can access them all in one place! We hope this can motivate and remind you to stay positive and to always try to better yourself!

1. Follow Up Fast

Why is this great advice? Aside from improving client experience, increasing retention and growth, and giving you peace of mind, it helps you stay on top of things! A client will value your time more if you value theirs, and following up fast can achieve this reciprocal relationship!

2. Learn Every Day

There is always room for growth, and learning something new everyday will help to nurture your mind and personal development. This can be a milestone in life such as learning the alphabet for the first time when you’re a child, or just a fun fact that you see on social media while scrolling through your newsfeed.

Tip: At the end of each day, reflect on something new you learnt! You will feel more accomplished and driven for the future.

3. Take The High Road

How we react to the situations that we are presented with shows character and typically affects the final outcome. Taking the high road also means putting things into perspective! Giving others the benefit of the doubt or finding positive ways to respond to conflict will ultimately put you above all of the negativity!

4. Focus On Goals

Setting goals and keeping them on the forefront of all tasks is so important. Also setting short-term goals within the long-term ones will help you achieve the main goal faster. An example could be to become a successful real estate agent, but a short-term goal for that would be to find your first client. Having these in your mind or written down will ensure that you progress at a good pace and never lose sight of what’s important to you.

5. Don’t Burn Bridges

How we respond to stressful situations can often hurt us. Staying calm and keeping all sorts of relationships as a priority in life will ultimately benefit us in the long run. Quite literally, if you burn the bridge behind you, there is no going back. Leaving all prior situations in good standing leaves the option of going back and potentially fixing errors or maintaining networks that will aid us in future endeavors.

6. Communicate With Kindness

This amazing advice shows us that at the end of the day, no matter whom you communicate with or how professional you have to be, we are all still human and must be kind to one another. People are quick to notice kindness and respect for all people. There was an article I read recently where high up executives said they liked when their secretaries had a good feeling about people they interview based on their interactions, because this is a sign of good character. Kindness is more noticeable than you think.

7. Grow Your Network

By growing your network, opportunities arise, business partners appear, connections are made and trust is garnered in the community. You can never know too many people in the industry and one of those connections that you may never have deemed that relevant could surprise you with amazing opportunities.

8. Work Smarter and Harder

It is a common misconception that putting in a lot of time will produce the best results. While that may be true for some, if the time isn’t used wisely it ultimately won’t matter. Find strategies that are effective for your efficiency and never stop finding ways to work smarter.

9. Always Be Yourself

Live in alignment with your values and beliefs. Being yourself is all about knowing what you believe in and the values that you live by. Never lose sight of this and never give up your individuality for other people or opportunities.
