What made you want to go into real estate?

Having studied engineering and working for GM for a few years, real estate was a second career for me, a career that I chose after looking very closely at my strengths and interests. I love doing what I do, but it took me a while to get there.

How many years have you been in the industry?

I have been in real estate since 2008.

Are there any life lessons you’ve learnt in your experience that you’d like to share?

Real estate is a people-centered business. You impact people’s living space or work space. Before being passionate about real estate, you have to be passionate about people.

Do you have any advice for young professionals that may want to enter the real estate world, or people that may not be sure of what they want to do in the future?

I suggest that they try it out for a few days first. Another option is to speak to experienced people in the field. Lastly, finding the right spot to be career wise is a journey, you can make good decisions but you don’t know where you will end up.

How has the industry grown and improved since you first started working as an agent?

The role of market data and online marketing in sales has grown exponentially.

What’s your favourite part about being an agent?

Meeting with different clients and providing solutions to their real estate needs.

What’s your favourite area of the city?

Mostly Downtown and North York. Good real estate has no boundaries.

Have you faced any major challenges in work or life in general that have shaped who you are today?

Yes, I have faced the challenge of changing my lifestyle from an employee to a self employed. I have changed my field of work from engineering to real estate and changed many more important things in my personal life. In every occasion, I grasped the situation, did my research and made informed decisions.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I usually spend time with my extended family, travel, read books and exercise.

Where would you see yourself working if it weren’t for real estate?

I think I would be a researcher/trainer (in real estate).

If you could travel to any place on earth, where would it be and why?

Australia is a place that I like to be able to travel through for a month or so at least.
