What is that ‘S’ word? SFIZI is Italy’s version of tapas or sharing plates. Italians love to share and the plates and portions are designed to do so.
All about the chef…
Sergio Mattoscio, Executive Chef of Industria Pizzeria + Bar, has held several chef positions including Chef at Med Grill and Rare. He opened his own restaurant in 2008 which soon became known for his signature gnocchi poutine. Word got out and Manhattan chef Scott Conant offered him a position at Toronto’s Scarpetta, however his love of Montreal kept him in the city. In 2013, he was a contestant on the TV show Top Chef Canada and soon after he became chef in a new venture, Industria Pizzeria + Bar, in Griffintown, Quebec.
With three restaurants currently in operation (two in Quebec and one in Ottawa) and two additional locations opening by summer 2017 in Laval and Boucherville, Quebec, we are excited to announce that we are looking for sites for further restaurants.
