The Behar Group Celebrates 30 Years in Business!

On May 12th, The Behar Group Realty Inc., Brokerage (“TBG”) celebrated its 30th anniversary. This major milestone represents the continued hard work, dedication, and success embodied by the company and by each member of the team.

At a reception to mark the occasion, Greg Evans, President, Broker of Record and 20-year #TeamBehar veteran, remarked that “we didn’t want to miss this opportunity to thank our amazing broker team, support staff and of course our clients and friends in the industry who have helped us along the way. People are really noticing our unique place in the commercial real estate brokerage landscape. We are grateful that clients and agents are drawn to us, and it’s our pleasure to support them all.”

The Behar Group is a full-service brokerage. While the company is best known for its high-profile work in retail landlord and tenant representation, the industry has also come to recognize TBG’s work in multi-residential, land, industrial, office leasing, mixed-use development advisory, and investment real estate. With experienced brokers across a variety of asset classes, the company continues to grow by developing and refining these specialties, without losing its corporate culture. The amalgamation of talent and diverse backgrounds enables TBG to provide a wide range of services including advising, consulting, and representing sellers, purchasers, developers, landlords, and tenants. As an industry leader in commercial real estate, representing private and institutional owners and occupiers, The Behar Group remains at the forefront of innovation and creativity in market knowledge, trend forecasting and risk assessment.

After 30 years, The Behar Group team has grown to include over 50 members. “We often say that we are a 30-year-old startup,” states Evans. “This mindset helps us to innovate and to improve every single day.”



While the company continues to rapidly grow and expand, TBG is still considered a boutique brokerage due to its unique service style – to treat everyone like family. This hands-on approach ensures the highest quality of care when overseeing projects from start to finish. “We hope to scale this culture as we continue to grow well into the future,” states Avi Behar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “We’ve developed a system of internal collaboration, synergy, cooperation and family values. Our platform has been built to ensure lasting success for our clients and for our team. We’ve created a home for new brokers in the industry, as well as experienced brokers looking to be a part of an amazing group of people and keep more of their commission.” 

The Behar Group is poised for continued growth as it comes out of the pandemic.  TBG now has offices in North York and in Downtown Toronto, and a broker support infrastructure which includes IT/Operations, Data/Mapping research and analysis, Marketing, and Accounting, paired with sales mentorship, training and non-competitive broker access. Evans adds that “We have always been a place, a home, that was a great training ground for brokers getting started, but of late, established agents from other small and large commercial brokerages have come to us and reinforced and reaffirmed that what we do is different, and highly valued.”

Looking towards the future also enabled the team to look back and to reflect on both the roots and growth of the company over the past 30 years. In 2017, Yosi Behar, Founder of The Behar Group, transferred full ownership of the company to Avi and Greg. With 54 years of experience, Yosi continues to be actively involved with TBG. His specialties include Capital Markets, Mixed-Use Development, and Automotive. “It really is one big family. We all work together and it’s fantastic,” states Yosi. “Every time I come to the office, there is somebody new.”


Yosi, Avi, and Greg have endeavoured to create a welcoming environment where communication, collaboration, and thoughtfulness pervade. They look forward to continuing this journey for many years to come.
